Hello, Hello, Hello
I often think of my Dad's father.
My grandfather.
The way he greeted people as they walked into a room.
With a Hello, Hello, Hello.
Gently disarming.
It was later in my life I realised that if there were more than three people he’d occasionally add a fourth hello. He’d turn my way and give me a wink. Almost like I was in on the joke.
He’s been gone almost 12 years now. I can still see his smile. Can still feel the way he’d wrap his arm around your shoulder.
And I tell you that, to tell you sometimes I say hello, hello, hello when I enter an interaction.
Not a conscious choice, simply something I now do.
I don’t know if it provides others comfort, or is perceived as gentle. However, it makes me feel more gentle and provides me with a little comfort. And I can’t see that as a bad thing. In tougher times it comes out of me a little more.
I love how it’s still part of me 12 years on.
And today I just wanted to say.
Hello, hello, hello.
I hope you are well x
